After the New Year holidays, when many spent the entire budget on gifts, dresses, Christmas trees and holiday feasts, there was little money left. Salary is not soon, so you need to save. But in front of us is no less beloved holiday among our fellow citizens - the old New Year. He also wants to set a delicious table, celebrate with his family, or even call guests. So you need to cook at least five budget dishes. They look festive, and their cost is low, which will allow to reach the next payday.
Sliced plates
The best snack option for which you do not spend a lot of money. Perhaps, from the New Year you still have sausage, jerky, cheese. Place all this in meat and cheese plates.
Garnish with greens, olives, vegetables that you haven’t eaten during the holidays.
Vegetable and fruit slices also come in place. Buy, at the request of even inexpensive products for these plates: boiled sausage, hunting sausages, apples, tangerines, carrots, cucumbers.
Chicken Julienne
An inexpensive, quick and satisfying dish is julienne. It can be prepared in portions in cocotte makers, and served immediately from the oven, but even when cooled the julienne is very tasty. You can choose cream of any fat content, but the higher its percentage, the tastier it will be.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 300 gr chicken fillet;
- 200 gr. raw champignons;
- 1 onion;
- 400 ml cream;
- 300 gr hard cheese;
- frying oil;
- salt, pepper to taste.
Cooking.
- Cut the onion in half rings and fry a little in a pan.
- Grind the fillets in small cubes or stripes and put on the onion. Fry for 10 minutes.
- Cut the mushrooms into slices and lay on the bottom of the cocotte.
- On top of mushrooms - chicken with onions. Salt and pepper.
- Pour 100 ml of cream into each coconut bowl.
- Grate the cheese and sprinkle the future julienne on top.
- Put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
The vinaigrette
This salad is loved by everyone since childhood. On holidays, we often undeservedly forget about him, and the old New Year is an occasion to recall the recipe for vinaigrette. Especially if after the olivier you still have a jar of peas, and you have prepared sauerkraut and pickles for the winter. It is better to bake vegetables in the oven in foil than to boil. When cooking, the taste and color go into the water, and if baked, the vegetables will remain bright, elastic.
Ingredients:
- 2 pcs. beets and carrots;
- 4 things. potatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 2 pickles;
- 300 gr sauerkraut;
- can of green peas;
- vegetable oil for dressing;
- salt, pepper to taste.
Cooking.
- Bake, peel and dice potatoes, carrots and beets.
- Thinly chop the onion in half rings.
- Dice the cucumbers and mix everything in the salad bowl.
- Add sauerkraut, peas, butter. Salt and pepper.
- Mix well again and serve.
Herring Salad with Celery
A little unusual snack, but it is good because it is quite satisfying, low-calorie, with an inexpensive composition and interesting taste. If you dress with mayonnaise, you get a heavier version of the salad. For diet - add sour cream or thick natural yogurt. Then you can still season with lemon juice.
Ingredients:
- 200 gr. peeled salted herring;
- 4 stalks of celery;
- 1 large green apple;
- 1 small onion;
- dressing mayonnaise, sour cream or yogurt;
- salt, pepper to taste.
Cooking.
- Cut herring into small pieces.
- Chop celery and apple into thin strips, onions into half rings.
- Combine everything in a salad bowl, salt, pepper and season.
Baked chicken
You can bake the whole bird in the oven, or you can divide it into pieces and cook in pieces. Put the remaining back on the broth.
To bake a whole chicken, rub it with spices for poultry, salt, stuff with garlic and send to a preheated oven until a crispy crust forms. To get a more interesting taste, put an apple or peeled mandarin inside the chicken.
If you plan to cook the dish in slices, lay them on a baking sheet, season a little. In empty places you can put peeled potatoes. When the dish is ready, the potatoes will be soaked with chicken juice and become fragrant and juicy.
